PIHASA has designed a support solution for pipes that operate under very low temperatures (from 0ºC / 32ºF down to -195ºC / -319ºF). Our cryogenic supports are based on the following special elements that efficiently isolate the pipes:
- Hardwood block, which is made of beech wood hardened by the use of phenol resins applied at high temperatures. As a result, an optimal isolating product is obtained with an excellent mechanical resistance and almost no humidity absorption.
- High density polyurethane, which can be supplied either in resins to be injected around the pipe, or as monolithically moulded rigid foam that is designed to perfectly match both the pipe and the supporting clamp.
It is also common to use a combination of hardwood blocks
and on-site injected polyurethane foam.
